The county track meet got off to a rainy start on Thursday night, but that didn’t stop the Lady Rebels from turning in stellar performances. Leah Keesling broke her own county record in the 1600 meter run with a time of 5:15. Leah also won the 3200 in 11:38. Harley Shinn placed 4th in the 3200 meter run. Mattie Hale competed in both the 100 hurdles and 300 hurdles. She finished 5th and 4th respectively. Ashlyn Longfellow led the way with the throwing events. She finished 3rd in both the shot put and the discus. Olivia Keesling heaved a PR of 24’6.5″ in the shot which landed her in the 5th position. Olivia also helped pick up points in the 400 meter dash where she also finished 5th. Last but not least Deserae Harrison made her outdoor debut after working through an injury for most of the season. Deserae finished 3rd in the long jump with a PR of 12’7.5″. The Lady Rebels return to the track on Friday, May 10 for an MEC showdown.
