The Lady Rebel Varsity Volleyball traveled to Knightstown Saturday September 19th for the Knightstown Invitational playing best out of 3 sets. Teams included RS, Knightstown, Monroe Central and Milan. The Lady Rebels came playing the 9am game against Knightstown playing as a team and getting everyone on the court involved in the game. The Lady Rebels were ahead a couple times during the game but just falling short to Knightstown at the end of both sets losing 22-25 and 20-25. Coach Clear very proud of how the Lady Rebels played with high confidence and determination against a very good Knightstown. 10am game was against Monroe Central again the Lady Rebels came out with high spirits and digging and blocking great and getting everyone on the court involved winning the first set 25-15. Second set Lady Rebels again had the lead multiple times but just fell short losing the second set 25-27. Going into the third set with determination of winning diving and digging everything that Monroe Central gave us but just fell short 13-15. Coach Clear very excited and proud of how the Lady Rebels played. 11am game was against a tough Milan team that hit every open spot that they threw at the Lady Rebels. The Lady Rebels after a longer break between games than expected got cool and just wasn't ready for the set losing the first set 10-25. The second set Lady Rebels were ready to play hard again but again came up short losing second set 17-25. 12:30 game for the 3rd spot of the Knightstown Invitational was against Monroe Central and fourth game of the day. The Lady Rebels after eating lunch first set was a sluggish start losing the first set 15-25. But came back in the second set ready to take down Monroe Central and had the lead for awhile but just came up short 22-25. The Lady Rebels played their hearts out Saturday and Coach Clear couldn't ask for anything else. Very proud of every single one of them. With being in fourth place The Lady Rebels was able to pick one player for the Tournament Team and with that being said Adelle Thurston had an amazing day Saturday being a great Leader and doing what needed to be done on the court. Next game for The Lady Rebels will be Monday September 21st at home JV will play Anderson Prep Academy starting at 6pm and then the Varsity will play Union. Come out and support the Lady Rebels.
