Since the Spring Sport Season came to a close before it even began, we will be highlighting our SENIOR Spring Sport Athletes in the coming weeks.   You are a special group and one that we will all remember fondly for your efforts both on and off the field of play!  Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

Today’s featured Rebel senior is Gage Ison

Sports played: Baseball, Bowling, Track, Tennis, Fishing, Wrestling, and Archery

Plans After Graduation: Go on to work for H&P Tool Company in Richmond from the Career Center Program and go to Ivy Tech for a degree in Machine and Tool. 

Athletic Honors Earned: 

  • Archery – 5th place in state 2016, 4 year state qualifier, 3 year national qualifier, 2 year world qualifier, 2019 Randolph County Individual champion.    
  • Baseball – 4 varsity letters
  • Bowling – 12th place at sectionals, regional qualifier 
  • RS Rebel Fishing Team – 2 top 10 state finishes, 1 top 5 state finish 
  • Tennis – Hold the record for most JV wins
  • Track – 2 varsity letters
  • Wrestling – 2 varsity letter S

Favorite Coach or Teacher: Favorite Coaches: Roger McReynolds and Brad Fisher. Favorite Teacher: Mr. Larry Wilson from the Machine & Tool Program at the Richmond career center.

Favorite Memory as a Rebel Athlete: Going to Archery Worlds in Florida, fishing many tournaments with Tyler Fink, playing baseball with the same people from little league, joking about playing tennis then joining the team and having so much fun.

Thoughts on Being an Athlete: It was awesome to see everyone everyday, to joke around, and have fun throughout the seasons. 

Other Activities/Hobbies: Enjoying the outdoors.
