Randolph Southern Rebels Varsity watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 3-0 loss to Cowan on Monday.  The pitching was strong on both sides.  Cowan pitchers struck out 15, while Randolph Southern Rebels Varsity sat down 11.  Cowan got things moving in the first inning, when an error scored one run for Cowan.  One bright spot for Randolph Southern Rebels Varsity was a single by Quorbin McDavid in the first inning.  Jacob Clark got the win for Cowan. He allowed two hits and zero runs over seven innings, striking out 15 and walking one.  Joseph Hosbrook took the loss for Randolph Southern Rebels Varsity.  He allowed seven hits and three runs over five innings, striking out ten.  Caleb Wissel and McDavid each collected one hit to lead Randolph Southern Rebels Varsity.  Cowan tallied eight hits.  Chase Smith and Clark all had multiple hits for Cowan.  Cowan was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error.  Austin Jones had the most chances in the field with 14.
